About Us
The Young Families Ministry of Park Cities Presbyterian Church exists to extend the transforming presence of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ within the hearts of husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, and children.
Our mission is to encourage our covenant children and their families in their faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ by providing comprehensive, age-appropriate instruction, worship, and outreach to families with children at PCPC.
Theology of Children’s Ministries
Young Families Ministry seeks to equip and encourage parents in their call to direct themselves and their children “to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just.” (Genesis 18:19).
References from Scripture: Deut 6; Psalm 78; Proverbs 22; Malachi 4; Matthew 18, 19.
We recognize the necessity of the Holy Spirit alone to change the hearts and lives of families. We also recognize the whole counsel of God, revealed in Scripture, as the sole authority for life and this Ministry, its principles and its practices.
We believe the Scripture of the Old and New Testament, as originally given, to be the inerrant Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We provide an English Standard Version Bible to our First Graders.
We receive and adopt the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Catechisms, as containing the system of doctrine taught in the Holy Scriptures. We have designed for our children to have learned the First Catechisms prior to graduating to Youth Ministry.
We use curriculum that is Bible-centered because the written Word of God is the primary means the Holy Spirit uses to build up the saints in their “most Holy faith.” We have “in house curriculum" for Nursery and Preschool. We use the PCA Great Commissions curriculum for Elementary.
We look to present a Biblical view of community through fellowship. We endeavor to live as families in a covenant community, distinctive in love for one another. We aim to preserve the unity of the body of believers through Bible-based and Christ-centered relationships, which are spiritually enriching and life-producing.
We share in God’s plans and purposes for extending His Kingdom. We seek to witness in word and deed to our neighbors outside of the covenant family. We love our neighbors as ourselves.
